Snakes

Snakes belong to the family Serpentes, also known as the snakes family, it is part of the order Squamata which also includes lizards and worm lizards. There are about 3,400 species of snakes which are found throughout the world, with the exception of Antarctica, some islands and some countries, like Ireland. These animals have a wide range of size, color and shape, but they are all characterized by having no limbs, a long and flexible body, scales and a jaw that can be opened wide enough to swallow prey whole.
